Most Underrated Games

What, in your opinion, are the most underrated games? This doesn't just have to be PC games, any platform is fine.

Personally, I think Section 8: Prejudice is extremely underrated. The studio has gone under, the servers are shut down, and apparently GFWL will be shut down soon as well (which is sad it used GFWL). While the campaign was horrible, it did improve upon the original Section 8 multiplayer through improved weapon customization (though not on the scale of Battlefield or CoD) as well as offering a more diverse multiplayer experience due to the various random missions that would occur during matches. It was tons of fun; I have ~30 hours logged on this game, and that was only playing against bots. Nobody plays the multiplayer, and it's really sad because it was pretty different from a lot of shooters that are released these days, and it only cost $15.

Dino D-day me and a friend have put a tonn of time into that game and I bought it in a bundle for us and it only cost me about £3 for 2 bundles.

Check out this site its like humble bundle but with a lot more games http://www.bundlestars.com/all-bundles/

I didnt even know the servers were shut down. I was about to pick it up on steam. I played the demo of it on 360 (which was really just a hour trial), seemed pretty cool.

A extremely underrated game in my eyes is battlefield bad company 1. Even though it is very underrated and not alot of people purchased it in comparison to its sequal it's easier to find matches on it compared to bad company 2, atleast on 360.

Chromehounds on the Xbox 360, too bad the servers have been down for several years...

Off the top of my head, Jill of the Jungle, Wild Arms, Grandia, Terranigma, Arcraiser, Timestalkers, Evolution, Tales of Destiny, Jazz Jackrabbit, aaaaand Spitwad Willy.

Sure there's plenty more.

Singularity

The Metro games.

the vietcong series. Holy shit I had fun with some friends against those bots.

Total Annihilation is probably the best example I can think of. Great reviews but sold like crap but the ball kept slowly rolling and now it's considered to be one of the best RTS games to have ever seen the light of day.

Been playing it since day one and it still beats the current stuff in my opinion.

It's quite old and I don't know if it's underrated but the Commandos series is amazing and I spent countless hours of my childhood playing it. I don't hear many people talk about it but I think it's unique and deserves to be on some sort of list of great games.

Bought the series on GOG!

Oh wow. Start with number one (obviously) commandos: behind enemy lines to get a feel of it. enjoy ;D

I bought it for reasons of nostalgia. I am already quite familiar with Commandos. Memories of being made very upset by the French resistance man dying and trusting his dog to the thief in mission 2 ;(

Rising Storm and Insurgency

Advent Rising

Terribly underrated game.

Same goes for Jade Empire and Rune: Viking Warlords.

This is a N64 title and the singleplayer can be played in coop. You just start a multiplayer match as raptors for example, and then switch to a singleplayer level with the cheats.

and

Such amazing games, but good luck getting a legit copy of either :/

A-OK! The Wings of Mercury, A realistic simulation of the Mercury space flight. Website gone.
ISDefense a fun rail shooter.
TitanFall I hated it at first but now I really enjoy it. Usually 50 regional and 400 players worlwide .
Quartris II+. Tried the shareware and mailed a check for 15 bucks for the full version. Got the diskette and hate mail saying if it ever showed up online he would hunt me down and sue my ^%$ off.
Section 8. I liked that game too.
Farmville....Don't see the attraction but my wife sure likes it

Please watch the post date. That was a hefty 2-year necro! However, since the topic isn't time-sensitive, we'll likely keep this open.

...and to add to the discussion

2013's Rise of the Triad doesn't get the attention it deserves. The best single player shooter ever imo.
