Monitor under £130 ($200) UK

I have recently bought the components to build a new PC and have lately been considering an upgrading from my older monitor to a newer one. I have a maximum budget of £130 give or take. I will be primarily using it for gaming and social media. All Opinions/Suggestions are welcome :) I will be buying ASAP (tomorrow/Monday) and so appreciate quick replies. Smooth looking gameplay preferably.

Here are a few examples of what I've been eyeing:

Thanks! Edit: I don't really care for the size of the screen, I would be fine with a 21", anything larger is a bonus, I'm looking more at the quality of monitor.

This one's good. http://www.amazon.co.uk/VX229H-21-5-inch-Widescreen-Multimedia-1920x1080/dp/B00EKB0I5M/

My advice would be to go with IPS over TN.

Cool, looks nice, thanks for quick reply. I'll look into it some more but I'll defo concider it! It's currently first choice of I were to buy one now. Also what's the difference? Sorry I'm a nub with monitors :P

Well there's this one, 1080p IPS for 107

Or if you can squeeze out a bit more cash there's still a pretty cheap 21:9 1080p monitor, the latency is on the high side, but it shouldn't be much of an issue.

I wonder if there are korean 1440p monitors for sale in the UK

There are on eBay, but they're normally just under, or in excess of £200.

There is this Shimian for £140, but it's used.

I have that one, it's perfect, get that one @shelly

Ah cool, which one? Zavars suggestion?

Think @Streetguru's talking about the Shimian.

Buying a monitor is basicly a very personal thing.
It highly depends on what is important to you.

TN panels, are mosty used by diehard FPS gamers, because they have a very fast response time.
You will notice no ghosting what so ever.
The con of TN panels is that their colors are not as rich as on an ips or pls panel for example, and the viewing angles are also awfull.

IPS:panels are mostly used by designers, however they are also very popular for gaming nowdays.
they have a very great colors and viewing angles.
The response times of ips panels are a bit slower, and in some cases you can notice some ghosting.
However i personaly never noticed any ghosting on my ips.

Ok sweet, thanks for the info, never knew that before. Also to everyone, I'm In a massive dilema as I literally can't pick out of a various range of monitors with a reasonable price to me. How does Zavars suggestion sound to you? I've heared very good reviews about it and it's well in budget.

If it's anything like the one I got it's a great monitor and it's super cheap

Alright :) Ima just go for it.

The Achieva shimian with LG S-ips panel inside, is basicly a very good monitor.
Not sure how it goes with refurbished monitors and warrenty?

I actually have that 21:9 1080p monitor and it preforms quite well for gaming especially on games such as Elite: Dangerous because having the extra width makes a bit more immersive and the joystick on the button to control the monitor settings is awesome and super easy to use.. The monitor isn't so good for watching videos or gaming on a console as it will letterbox the standard 1080p image in the middle of the screen but for pc gaming/productivity it is really good especially for the price. Saying that, it does make much more sense for productivity than for gaming.

CCL has good prices on monitors, here's a 23" Asus IPS panel with DVI and HDMI CCL has good prices on monitors, here's a 23" Asus IPS panel with VGA, DVI and HDMI inputs. Has VESA mounting holes, too. £113ish. CCL does free delivery too.

Tada

Thanks for all the replies, I'm unable to get the achieva shimian monitor as my past experiences with eBay have been bad but more importantly it doesn't fit in my under £140 budget after further adjustments. I am planning on buying very very soon and so suggestions would be very appreciated. Here are a few more ideas after more research, Furthermore I heared that IPS monitors are better than TM and so would prefer to aim for them :) Preferably looking for a 23" high quality image, lowish Ms, high contrast monitor. Thanks!

At the moment I'm planning on buying this http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00EKB0I5M/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1V6Z2X9I7KSQG

Maybe have a look at places other than amazon. Might be able to find better prices. In my experience looking for monitors they've rarely, if not just not often had the best price available.

There's SCAN (although beware their delivery charges), CCL (who do free delivery on pretty much everything), overclockers, ebuyer and novatech.

Well dig 10 bucks out of your couch and search your local amazon for the achieva monitor, it would be the best one you could buy bar none.

Alright thanks for help, I'll look elswhere.

Before I look elsewhere I stumbled accross this crazy reduction. It looks very very nice, What do you all think? http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005QVZ79C/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2HTD9VZIPQLJB#productDetails
