my new LG monitor came with a comically short cable that connects it to it’s power supply and I was wondering if it was safe to make a barrel jack cable extension to plug into my monitor in order to avoid having to use a traditional power cord extension, which is bulky.

Also keep in mind that the longer the cable, the greater the voltage drop is.

The barrel connector is not a problem. What I was worried most were issues with voltage. Maybe I can safely do it with a low gauge wire to reduce the voltage drop.
