I have a Lenovo X1 Carbon Gen 10 that i have been using for work for the last 18 months and recently did some research and found that i can basically do everything i need now on linux so decided to switch to ubuntu 24.04 as my OS.
I have managed to get everything i need working except for the webcam, which i need as i often have to join Teams meetngs etc.
This seems to be a well documented issue, with intel IPU6 MIPI webcam in these laptops not working in ubuntu ‘out the box’
All the info i have found is from last year and when i go to ‘Additional drivers’ it does offer up a IPU6 proprietary driver which i have installed but it didn’t change anything.
I have found a couple of posts about people that have got it working by adding development repo’s and patching the kernel and creating loop backs and stuff that’s all way beyond my current level of understanding.
Given that there seems to be an ‘official’ driver offered and this machine has been out for about 2 years does anyone know of a simple way to get this working or i am stuck to having to carry a USB webcam with me everywhere, or even go back to windows ![]()
Appreciate any help in resolving this ![]()
