I'm considering doing this just for the asthetic purposes. Anyone care to just sort of explain everything to me and the pros/cons. I've looked around at some things about it but still wanna know more. Also kinda wondering about how you'd do the USB ports and stuff.
nevermind im over it
"nevermind im over it"
Good. Unless you've just got some left over CRAP parts laying around and you want something for your friends to be googley eyed over for a few minutes, don't waste your time. lol
Yeah I kinda noticed as I looked around that it's not known to last all that long. Plus it kinda ruins your stuff if you plan on selling it or whatever.
It's just kind of a novelty thing to do.
I've seen some pretty cool looking ones done though.
Being over it that quick just lets me know you never did your proper research and actually seriously considered doing a mineral oil PC. Parts don't die that fast in them... I'm not sure where this myth comes from, all the ones I've seen last until the system becomes obsolete for the most part. It makes everything that is close to the rig stiff as hell from the oil and ruins all cables and hardware for future use. It's more of an novelty, enthusiast, fun project type of deal and if you are doing it for those reasons then there is no reason to not build one.
Thats true, but putting a pc in an aquarium still looks shitty...
Yeahh, it was just a flash of the moment kind of thing...
lol i have the same exact feeling when i first saw one. I had considred building like a small home media server or somthing but i then realised that thats way to much work for somthing that just looks interesting for about 5 minutes.
