Mikrotik <--> Cisco - SFP+ port showing transceiver but no link

I just purchased and installed a MikroTik CSS610-8P-2S+in with switch os lite and it works great…except I cannot get the SFP+ 10Gbe ports to work. They show up in the SFP tab in the web ui, but neither my Cisco Nexus 5596 UP nor the Mikrotik itself show a link. I have tried several different fibre cables and transceivers, but to no avail.

Transceiver in the Cisco is Cisco-branded or generic? Had to manually enable off-brand in an Aruba switch before, which was fun.

Could try sticking both transceivers in the Mikrotik for a function test.

Also try disabling auto-negotiation for the link speed.

I decided to test a fifth fibre cable, and apparently I don’t know how to properly use my fibre cable tester, because the other four must be bad, as it just worked with this one. facepalm…

I have one fiber cable that maps the ends straight through, which is great when one of the transceivers is really special and breaks convention. Auto-MDIX SFP please!
