I believe to recall you mentioning Logan that you are sometimes getting migraines. As someone who has his brain handed to him by this nasty condition (the whole 9 yards - not just the Marsha Brady version) approximately once a month, I am wondering what you are doing to prevent them/ deal with them once you feel one coming on?
I tend to dive for migraine medication, but this stuff gives me a terrible 'hangover' without the benefits of actually having been drunk the next day.
I know health advice is not what Teksyndicate is about but I am always curious what other people do about it, hence my question.
Supposedly psilocybin is really effective against migraine and cluster headaches. The downside, or upside, depending on how you look at it, is that you will trip balls for 6-8 hours after ingesting it. It is commonly found in hippie mushrooms and its effect on headaches should last for 2-3 months at a time.
i get hospitalized-level migraines maybe once or twice a year to the point i had cat scans, once i even went partially Blind in the left side (i remember that night well, it was @ the halo 3 midnight release i remember just walkin down the hallway in the mall, and becoming more and more off center feeling, then i went to the floor and started pukin,
why that happened was i lost a chunk of vision in my left eye, and the brain compensated by closing the vision gap. so i precieved it as no vision loss. but if i looked forward and put both arms pointing out i couldnt see one of them.)
the only thing that seems to help me when im in headache city
is Naproxen. the otc pill ALIEVE is naproxen sodium. and you can also find just good ole naproxen sodium at any pharmacy. generally a blue tablet or gel.
Excedrin and aspirin and even Vicodin just wont do jack shit for me. there was a point when i was taking up to 2 thousand miligrams of vicodins (literal handful of talking 3-4-5 pills of Vicodin. "Hydrocodone-Bitartrate and Acetaminophen")
the doctor i told that too said i was taking such a high dose that it would poison people with a different body chemistry
if your getting really fucked up migraines, try some alieve . then go have a head check. luckily i was not broken in the head. at least physically. lawl.
my headaches were so bad any sound or light was piercing id lie in bed and even the ever so slight tilt of my head would change it would feel like i was pressing z and r twice.
that was years ago, although it never is a bad thing to look into. Alieve, at least for my body chemistry is my savior. to this day, because of those headache episodes. im supposed to carry basically an epi-pen type thing full of some migraine stuff turns out those suckers were pretty expensive and also expire every like month so ive never purchased any
break an alieve in half and if its bad swallow A second one whole, put a cold wet towel over your eyes and lay flat and still in your bed
"In my intro, I discussed how I came to DMT as a migraine remedy, and how well it worked for me as an abortive treatment. Since researching more about tryptamine treatment for migraine, I discovered that the gold-standard of migraine treatment seems to be psilocybin. Since it not only has abortive properties but in some cases quite profound prophylactic properties, with many migraineurs reporting from two to six months of migraine free life between trips. "
It has been known for a long time. But since shrooms are teh illegal it hasn't been promoted. Copenhagen university have taken an interest in them and amanita muscaria because both contain substances that could possibly cure untreatable depression, work as sleeping aides, help migraine and cluster headache sufferers and a lot of other interesting things. Now I am not going to tell you to break the law. I am going to tell you that they grow around cow patties late in the year before night frost sets in. And it has to be psylocybin mushrooms. There are other psychoactive mushrooms that may make your night a lot more fun, but wont help your problem.
Thanks everyone. Interesting suggestions on all accounts! :) Was also wondering whether there were any additional resources or research anyone is familiar with? It just seems strange to me that 'migraine' as a diagnosis appears to be pretty much the end of most conversations I had with doctors. The really annoying thing is the hangover i am getting from the 'Acute Treatment' medication the day after, changing the whole thing an unpleasant experience for a couple of hours into a weekend extravagance to which uncle pain and aunt nausea are invited.
I noticed for instance that if I exercise A LOT I can drag out the next attack. To remain in line with the website that @Geoff kindly provided, does anyone have any 'Complementary Treatments' you found helpful? Really appreciate all the suggestions for 'Acute Treatments' and will check these out (as much as my body chemistry and legality permits).
Here the law is that the fresh mushroom is a mushroom and part of our natural surroundings. If you dry them and sell them on, they become illegal drugs.
Edit. Grow at home kits are very popular here due to the law. People then grow what they need and eat them fresh or in food.
