Microsoft patent mobile kill switch similar to Apple

It's interesting these two big tech players are applying for patents in this area. I wonder if there'll be a legal battle over this if they both impliment this tech or both patents will be "different" enough that will allow both companies to develop kill switches in future phones and mobile devices.

Logan mentioned it in an episode last year that Apple recently applied for a very similar patent. Not sure of the episode number but there are articles about it.

Is this a good thing? phones automatically off in theatre or is this setting things up for a future where our phone switch off when someone doesnt want us to be able to communicate?

What ever the reason I don't like control being taken out of my hands.

It is most defantley not a good thing the more control the government has over technology the worse off we are.
