Well, it's more than a week old, but I find it interesting. Basically, the article says that Roscosmos is developing ICs, and other systems for satellites based on microphotonics. As I understood, they want to replace the most of electronics on satellites with photonics.

I find this exciting, because the photonic systems are gradually moving out of the experimental stage, and getting more and more real world usage. If you know Russian, maybe you could tell us something more about this text, or even find something more about this on the runet.
