Mecha Comet - Modular Linux Handheld

Yeah… I might have to get one of these. Underneath the removable backside there’s an Allen key used to take it apart.

32GB flash
m.2 PCIe 2.0, 1x

3000 mAH Battery

And I like the design idea, not only the Allen wrench. Instead of making a new proprietary bus for the keyboard, it’s just usb with pogo pins. It’s a handheld, does it need pcie 4.0 for the expansion port… not really? But also because of the Allen wrench.

Common man, I dont need this. Why did you show it to me?

I have questions:

What will be the WiFi/BT/LTE modem? What kind of Linux kernel support does it currently have?

What are Trust Anchor (CC EAL 6+), Accelerated Crypto? I dont know what those are…

Coreboot BIOS would be nice. A whole FOSS stack would be nice…

The Mechanix OS seems nice but I am not satisfied with Debian (too slow cadence).
