Needs to be customizable getting a job soon in this dying economy i think
A few questions to provide accurate advice:
-
What do you want to do with the PC? Play games, browse the internet, edit photos/videos, write emails, that sort of thing.
-
Budget and country? Just a price range will suffice.

Learning is part of the process…
The main issue here is the size, so I would suggest ITX.
Itx is the smallest of the conventional motherboards while still offering decent featureset.
I would go for a mid range GPU, since they are usually smaller, so you can stick it in a small form factor case.
Since you don’t want a large case, this should be your biggest interest at the moment.
Look at reviews for cases.
That is the main issue with small form factor cases. They are usually difficult to work with, cause they try to cram a lot in a small box so they usually are super tight and crammed.
Look at some reviews, pick a case and we can move on from there.
My favourite tiny case is the ancient Cooler Master Elite 110, but that may be way too small for the modern mainstream graphics cards, cause progress means larger, right? 4 slot GPUs it is…
But really, check some cases. Look at pictures and reviews.

Is mirco atx more ez to work with?
Yes, but there are two issues with it.
- There are very rarely a good matx motherboards and
- Matx cases are usually the size of a full ATX case…
And since the size is your priority I would not recommend matx.
There are, as mentioned before, NUC options, but they are not really customizable, or should I say rarely customisable, so I would say ITX is your best option.
The nucs are usually used for really tiny PCs with most parts built into the motherboard itself, so they can design it tiny. There is some costumisability, like upgrading the ram or adding extra storage, but the CPU and GPU are usually integrated, so you can’t replace them.
PS: I am not an expert, I’m owning a restaurant, I am just an enthusiast, so if I’m wrong I don’t mind being corrected.
Fook mannnn
Welcome to building PCs.
We have a moderator in this forum, that is hunting for exactly what she wants for like 5 years now…
My point being, check the market and be prepared to make some compromises…
So itx is way more customizable?
Can i get away from not useing a case
ITX is pretty much a full desktop with some limitations, based on it’s size…
For example, you have only one PCIe slot, so no extra devices, other than the GPU, also only 2 ram slots, so you can’t just add more ram, you have to replace what you have, but that all is for the purpose of shrinking the size.
Other than that it’s perfectly fine desktop PC that works with desktop parts.
Is it close to console size?
You could, but I would suggest you just grab a case.
It channels air for better cooling, it adds electrical benefits, such as a massive ground wide, being the entire case…
That’s why I told you, check the case market first and find something you are willing to work with and move on from there.
Fractal Design have a great case from their good old days, named Node 304. Just be prepared to replace the fans, cause they are notoriously weak…
Some are, yes.
Some are the size of an Xbox Series X.
Thanks brother
I will try to play old games untill the dark times come
The problems with not having a case?
If anyone recommend anything thanks
