im going to making a new build soon that makes up of a MATX board with 4 dimms for a 32GB max ram set up. So for the rest of the build i was going to upgrade gradually like with the CPU being a i3-2100 to later on going with a i7-2500k, along with my other older parts to complete the build.
anyways the thought of gradually upgrading the rig, leaves me wondering about the video card. What can run Crysis at 1920x1200 for my 26inch monitor? note, that eventually the monitor would be replaced by a projector! also i dont mind turning down the settings on game to have playable frame rates on a projector.
any ideas for the GPU? THX Dave :)
P.S. i only mention crysis2 is because i still think as THEE BENCHMARK
I agree with skullabyss here. First wait until you have the funds to buy all the parts (ie higher performance) that you want. Upgrading over time just ends up wasting your money. Honestly on a budget I'd pick a 660 ti over the 560 ti due to the fact that the extra $100 you spend on the card will be extrapolated to the performance. So essentially the 660 ti is 150% the cost of the 560ti also it's 150% the performance boost as well. http://www.anandtech.com/show/6159/the-geforce-gtx-660-ti-review. The 660 ti can also stand up to Crysis with ultra settings around 50-60 fps average. On a final note an i5 is a great performance/price cpu for gaming needs as for amd someone else might be able to help you there.
well thx for the info guys! i have the coponent list for the build now, so by having to spend most of my money on the ram leaves me upgrading the rig over time just to save up money. also not to mention that intel just released new Sandy/Ivy bridge CPUs giving me room to upgrade.
660ti isnt a bad choice, something i wouldnt have came up with lol. So THX :)
