Making Windows more like the o/s you actually want

I started using computers after I graduated in 1983.
I disliked programming but I knew they would be a major thing, so I got into it. Then I got a job in NYC doing architectural engineering and we were beta testers for AutoCAD. I managed a 15 PC network with a huge 100MB server. I backed up to 1 floppy per project and then deleted the files from the server to save space.

I have been in so many offices when I was the new guy that said "Why are you buying a printer for every PC in the office? Have you ever heard of a router?" Then I would end up being the IT person in addition to my regular job.

I have had to use Commode 64's and Amiga's, Macs, Unix and PC. Like any religion, I order a little from column A and a little from column B. That is, I take things I like from other operating systems and try to replicate them in Windows.

One of the things I loved in Linux, was that you could easily scroll through content of inactive windows. Didn't work in Windows, until finally they enabled it in Windows 10 this year.

If you use older versions of Windows, and want this functionality, there's a small app called KatMouse that does exactly that.
