Magic the Gathering Question

Hello Everyone!

I just have a couple of quick magic the gathering questions, and their really stupid.

With the core sets and the expansions, can I build a deck out of cards from all of them to make one deck. I know that can be done for legacy but what about for modern?

Also how do you identify plainswalkers?

Stupid questions I know but any help is appreciated!

Well it depends on the set. Standard only uses the last two years sets I think. Modern goes back to pretty much 2004 for sets you can use and legacy can use anything. Also plainswalker cards say plainswalker on them. I would recommend going to the Magic website they have some good sources.
