MacOS refresh rate issues with L1KVM

Greetings,

I’m encountering an issue with my KVM and external display setup between my PC and Macbook.

While my PC can achieve a 120Hz or higher refresh rate on the external display, my Macbook seems to be stuck at a 60Hz. I’ve checked the display settings on both devices, and it appears that the Macbook has no option to change refresh rate.

A cursory investigation revealed that this could be the result of an incapable cable, but I’m using the Club3D Mini Dp → DP 1.4 (CAC-1115) which is advertised as sufficient.

Specs:

  • AW38231DW display
  • L1KVM Display Port 1.4 (1 display/2 computer)
  • MacBook Pro Mid-2015 / Monterey

If you have any insights or advice to offer, I’d greatly appreciate it

Did you try it without the kvm in the mix? Older Macs often don’t seem to work for more than 60hz
