M.2 E-Key Adapters

Do M.2 E-Key adapters or PCIe to M.2 E-Key adapters that fully implement the spec actually exist? Per the Google Coral Dual TPU product page

Although the M.2 Specification (section 5.1.2) declares E-key sockets provide two instances of PCIe x1, most manufacturers provide only one. To use both Edge TPUs, be sure your socket connects both instances to the host.

While I’m sure only pathing x1 can be cheaper and 1 vs 2 lanes isn’t a bandwidth concern for WiFi chips it is a bit disappointing. Even the M-Key adapters and PCIe risers I’ve found also only support 1 lane. I’d really have hoped that someone/company somewhere would market ANY kind of E-key adapter for more off-label uses like Coral TPUs and the like.

I’ve spent about an hour now looking across US marketplaces, Google search, and Aliexpress without any luck finding anything that is actually available and promises 2 lane support. Does anyone know if a full E-key adapter of some sort exists?

personally, im trying to find motherboards which are wired with 2 buses of PCIe x1 over the m.2 E key

I have come across two adapters during my search, but they make use of a PCIe switch, meaning that the bandwidth is split up to both Coral TPU’s over a single PCIe lane.

I’m still not allowed to share links, so search for “makerfabs Dual Edge TPU Adapter”

I also peered through aliexpress for such an adapter, but no dice for now

Is this the one you are talking about?

thats the one, theres also one in a pci-e x1 low profile rather than via m.2
