Picture and text file. It wouldn’t let me upload the xml version. I guess I could rename it as text if you need it.

is there a thunderbolt out port on the lenovo dock? The treeview looks like its behind a hub in the lenovo dock. if you have a tb passthrough hub using that for usb should change the look of the tree. the goal is to move the kvm devices closer to a root port (higher up the tree)

I think I had it originally set up in the way you are describing but still had issues. I changed config over the weekend. I am skipping the lenovo dock altogether now. Looks like this now

1 Thunderbolt port for laptop power
1 Thunderbolt port from laptop going to displayport to kvm
1 hdmi to display port adapter going to kvm
1 USB-A to USB-C cable going to kvm for data

I think that is the only way I can configure it to skip the dock even though I think hdmi to display adapters are frowned on as well. The laptop has no other way to power it (no barrel plug) so one of the thunderbolt ports is always used for power.

Afternoon Update–Plugged in headset for Teams meeting and PC froze again. Tried front USB port and the USB hub. Both froze up.

Other update–I was watching your M32U review and you were talking about the KVM and I think you called out Steelseries. This headset is a USB Steelseries headset.

Ah. Steelseries does not follow the USB standard perfectly. It has some severe issues. The KVm may be exacerbating it but probably not directly related. Can you try a different setup?

Tried a plantronics RIG 800 headset, USB dongle to wireless headset. It had the same issues. As soon as I try to play a windows sound as a test the mouse freezes. It unfreezes when I unplug the headset. I guess the next test for me is to see if this laptop can handle USB headsets without the KVM.

I messed with it out of the kvm some this morning. It seems like this laptop doesn’t like usb audio that isn’t directly connected. I tried two different usb headsets and two different hubs and every time I try to play a windows sound the mouse freezes (if connected via another hub) or no sound plays (no other usb devices connected). If I plug the headsets straight in they act normal whether or not I have keyboard and mouse plugged in via usb hub or not.

The device freezing described before was probably just all of the USB ports hanging when plugging in the headset or trying to use it. Today I was still able to move the trackpad mouse.

Not sure if this is related but sounds like similar issues. One user even said bypassing the dock for audio and plugging in directly mitigated the issue.
