Looking for USB fingerprint scanner recommendations that work well with Linux

Looking for USB fingerprint scanner recommendations that work well with Linux (and Windows).

I’d like to use it to log in/authenticate the correct user to the system easily.

Any suggestions?

This one appears to not have Linux support: https://www.amazon.com/Verifi-P5100-Premium-Fingerprint-Windows/dp/B00AAENMWO

Not a one?

https://www.neurotechnology.com/cgi-bin/fingerprint-scanners.cgi?group=platforms_linux_android

might want to take a look at this

https://www.neurotechnology.com/fingerprint-scanner-upek-eikon-solo.html

i would recommend holding on to the middle man website as they keep it up-to-date some what

Thanks that list should prove useful.

That specific 2nd link however has this on the page: “The scanner is no longer manufactured.”

Is there any information on whether the hardware requires proprietary software vs open source?

from my understanding fingerprint scanners can be driverless and work well with python pyusb. but its been eons sense i played with em.

can’t say for certain but most fingerprint readers as above are driverless should work if the software can see it. the new stuff for windows hello stuff not 100% sure

Is there any addition to this in Q4 2020? Ideally something like the PQI My Lockey or the Kensington VeriMark?
