Looking for Smart HDMI switch

Hello world.

I’m looking for a smart HDMI switch that can get commands from a home assistant/ai. I have not yet found any on but if you know something hit me up.

I haven’t seen one like that, but you have couple of options for DIY. One is to simulate a remote control using ESP8266 and a cheap IR transmitter. Another option is to solder directly to the pins that go to the physical button that switches the HDMI input, but you need to use a mosfet or a relay to short those pins using a digital signal from ESP.

You can use ESPHome firmware to do this as it much easily integrates into Home Assistant. If you get a HDMI switch that is larger enough, you might be able to just fit all custom electronics inside.

Thanks, I’ll check that out.

DIY is kinda not my thing. I don’t have so much time to start looking into how things work so it is usually easier to buy something working.

Not too difficult to find several that claim to support Alexa control:

Or that take commands from RS232:
