Looking for newer Qemu ringbuffer sound delay patch

As the title says essentially.

Qemu 2.x etc has a problem with the sound input ringbuffer that causes a huge amount of delay.
A patch exists for this, but it's more of a workaround and doesn't fully solve the problem, some latency still exists.

Is anyone, perhaps @wendell aware of a full patch to get non passthrough sound input working lag free?

There is an older out of date qemu build that has fixes, https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/qemu-saren-git/

There is also this patch, but it's not quite ideal.

Just asking if someone is aware of something before I go and dive into it myself.

Not even a search function, I rest my case.
