Looking for headphone recommendations (HI-FI) 2025

I was wondering if anyone has some HI-FI headphone recommendations. I currently own some Sennheiser HD598 SR that I got circa 10 years ago and are barely hanging in there (the driver and ear-cup have detached in one side).
My preference would be neutral, open-back and good sound stage, I appreciate hearing detail. Right now I’m eyeing the Arya Stealth.
Any recommendations or relevant things I should look for is welcomed.

PD: If the headphones need a DAC/AMP I would appreciate the heads up and a recommendation for them too as I don’t own any.

As much as I can understand that people enjoy music what kind of source material do you have to “make” use of such headphones?

I would personally check out Audio Technica ATH-A900Z (closed) or ATH-R50x (open) if you don’t have exceptionally great source material.

…and if you want to step up, ATH-A1000Z or ATH-R70xa.

As for DAC, Something like Topping E2x2 or Creative Sound Blaster G6 will actually go a long way.

I guess your budget is in the 500 to 750 dollar range?

  • Audiotechnica ATH-R70x (or the newer xa-model)
  • AKG K712 Pro

Entry-level Schiit-Stack (Magni and Modi) would work, or IFI entry level (uno and Zen Can)
If you want single unit, the the Fostex HP-A3mk2 may work for you.

I haven’t tried the Arya stealth but the Arya Organic is really nice
