Looking for a new laptop

I'm looking for a new laptop. Something kind of low to mid-range capable of gaming, but nothing spectacular. Prefreably under $800 and with at least a 15 inch screen and not an Acer or HP. Generally using it for school and writing.

Unless you need it like NOW, I would just wait a bit and save your pennies.

A lot of laptops were revealed at CES that are miles ahead of what is on the market right now.

I would try and make sure you get something with DDR4 memory and a PCIe NVME SSD.

I do kind of need something now. Laptops help be considerably at school and my current laptop is about to die.

Do you already have a gaming PC? because you'd be much better off building a desktop for 500-600 and just getting a basic portable device

Otherwise if you have a desktop, well then 960M + 1080p display and you're golden

Edit: did not see that you want it to play games. Welp. Good luck.

no GPUs though

I wont even consider the mac book air to be an option not only does it not have the hardware to play ganes, the software has a limited amount of games to chose from. I see where the battery life comes from but uh its the low end hardware that makes it a battery saver if you find any other laptop with the same specs not only would be a life saver, but much cheaper than the mac book air.

Yeah, I did not see that he wanted to play games.

ASUS ROG GL551JW-WH71
That would be your laptop bro. You can even find it on sale which makes it a steal.

As a general rule I don't touch anything built by Apple.

I do already have a gaming desktop.

Thanks, this system definitely looks good. Do you know any decent ones at a lower price? I'm trying to look at several options and determine which is the best for my budget.

Well then like I said in the other thread, do you really need a gaming laptop then? One focused more on battery life and maybe that has other useful features is probably going to be better as a daily carry device

So I just wanna get this straight.

You already have a gaming desktop, and you want to get a cheap gaming laptop for college?

I am telling you that you would be a million times better off getting a high quality ultra portable laptop than a gaming laptop.

I spend at times upward to twelve hours at school, I get bored that is why I want a laptop that can at least play games. It doesn't need to play them at high quality, but good enough to kill some at school.

Well this is still relatively portable with a 940M in it

Ah no actually but i know it was like 35% on new years, so come mlk maybe there will be sales. But its a great system for the price a lot of people seem to like the keyboard on it.

Here are a few different options. The newegg laptops are a cyberpower(openbox) and an ASUS. I also addes a couple from amazon.
