I am currently planning the build of my second vm system.
I am looking for a board with good iommu groups as I sadly got partly boned with my main node. (Asrock B450 Pro4)
I am mainly looking to pass 1 PCIE 1X (mabye 2)
and 2x PCIE 4/8x.
Does anyone have some great tips. also to be fair I am a big fan of asrock board but am willing to look at anything.

The CPU that i am looking at getting a second one is an Ryzen 1600AF
Well if you want to use the board for pci-e passtrough.
Then i would highly recommend to look at a x570 board instead.
Or in case those are too expensive for your needs,
you might wanne take a look at x470 instead then.
Because B-series chipset boards are generally not the most ideal in regards to iommu groupings.
Yea i learned that the hard way with my B450.
Any recommendations or should all of the X*70 be good?
I am using Gigabyte Auros ULTRA but from what I have read MASTER, ULTRA, or PRO should make no difference from passthrough PoV.
One of the selling features for Gigabyte was the possibility to assign boot GPU so you can easily use the bottom x4 slot from the chipset.
It has great IOMMU separation even without ACS patch. I could never get such good separation even on my previous Supermicro Xeon E3 (1151) board.

Thanks for the Tip will look at them, atm i mainly run my system headless but being able to assign boot gpu is also interesting.
