Many years ago I made a fatal mistake… and deleted this Pearl of a chinese cinematography masterpiece. Maybe…just maybe…someone here knows what movie I’m speaking about.
This is one of those old kung fu movies, brilliant to its deeps. I would say that it was filmed… in color… maybe 80s, or even 90s.
Remember two things about the movie:
The classic sensei with a white beard.
There was some junky scene with a ‘wase warrior’. It was either a demonstration or something, but I remember a big wase with arms and legs, fighting with someone.
I would want to have a collection of actually good movies done in this genre (and to have them on my media pc this time… no damn bookmarks and hoping to find them later).
Jackie Chan is the alltime favorite, but it doesn’t look well now(for some reason…maybe I watched too much when I was a kid). But definitely will give ‘Wing Chun’ a try.
I just now watched Mistic Warriors… and I want moar!!!
Also checkout his classmate/buddy Sammo Hung. I “discovered” him in his Martial Law run at CBS… turns out I’ve seen him several times in a few movies already
I also seem to vividly recall a Dragon Dancing competition (maybe in a separate Kung Fu franchise) where the bad guys used a cool centipede “dragon” against the good guy’s dragon and the good guys lost, killing most of the protagonist crew. The then noticed a chicken fight and eat a big ass centipede and emulated the chickens fighting style… in a chicken outfit. Yup its wild out there and I love it.
