Would it be worth spending the money loading this case full of fans. I have room for 4 140mm fans and 1 120mm fan in the front. I would have to buy a fan crontroller since my motherboard does not have enough fan headers.

I don't see why not. Also, if you don't want to spend the money on a fan controller you could do what I do.
I like my fans to always be at the same speed no matter what, honestly I see no need to adjust them on-the-fly. So, I stick to these Antec fans: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835209005
They are powered via Molex and they have a nifty fan controller knob attached to them :)
