Linux noob needs help

hello I am using ubuntu live usb and need help preventing it from losing display to my monitor after inactivity. I have set automatic suspend and screen blanking off in the settings but it still goes black after inactivity. Any help is greatly appreciated. Im running photorec and don’t want to lose any progress and have to force it off. thanks

Try using xset

xset -dpms

Thanks I will try this…any advice once it goes into black screen/no display?

It should keep the display awake, that command disables powersaving

Do I type that command in terminal?

yep, just type it and hit enter. Should work.
