Do this. Torrent antegros. Use suse image creator. Install antegros and turn off ALL internet.
That way all the packages and everything else will come from the USB drive rather than the internet.
I'll give it a shot next time I have a box I really do not care about but no plans atm. Just kinda wish there were no failures built in :\
