Linux driver for AMD Instinct Mi210 & Mi250X

Hi all!

I have an Ubuntu machine with a Mi100 and it has been working quite well. I was relatively new to Linux but surprisingly the driver installation for Mi100 was quite straight forward. I recently found a seller selling a Mi250X OAM module at a very reasonable price, but he cannot figure out how to install the driver for it so he is unable to verify if the card is fully functional. He tried amdgpu-install script and it did not work. It seems like AMD has not released driver support for Mi200 series on their website or to the public just yet. I also found a few people selling Mi210 but none of them offers guide on how to actually use them too.

Obviously there must be a way to install the driver for them, Mi200 GPUs have been in service for a while now. In Wendell’s video where he compared Mi210 to A100, the Mi210 was working without a hitch.

It would be wonderful if you can offer some guidance on how should driver be installed for Mi200 series GPUs, thank you all in advance!

I am also looking for a Linux driver for Mi210 accelerators.

I found support in the ROCm documentation.

Linux Quick Start is here, but I would also read the other installation options.
