Linux Distro Reccomendation for Dell Latitude E6530

Hi,

looking for a distro recommendation for my old Latitude E6530. It has a i7-3740QM, 16Gb RAM, 500 Gb SSD, and a NVS 5200M (n13m-ns1) for the gpu.

I primarily use it to watch web media on my TV, but i would also like to be able to play games as well.

Any recommendations are appreciated.

Any distro you want ahould work reasonably well on that laptop.

Recommendations will depend on your intended usage, and your general level of knowledge/experience with Linux. For a stable, mostly hands-off (in terms of maintenance) experience, distros such as Mint or Debian are a good fit.

The current hotness in gaming circles seems to be CachyOS. I tried it a bit, and its KDE edition seems to work all right, but since I’m not a gamer, I didn’t find it special enough to bother with it further.

As @dumetrulo has said. Will come down to your preference/skill. I will say for beginners that also would like to game Bazzite is very good choice as it’s a lot harder to brick the OS. Pop!_OS and Nobara are similarly good options, but give you quite a bit more freedom. Overall I don’t think there is really a “wrong” or “right” answer as it really comes down to personal preference and your specific need.
