I was just using my g3, when within a second I witness the lcdpanel dim, fade and change colors, to black.
Since i rooted it and am running a custom rom I dont necessarily want to go to the verizon store.
best course of action?
Does It seem to be running otherwise? If so a screen replacement ought to be enough. Has it been repaired before?
Flash stock and go to verizon? Who knows, maybe flashing stock will fix whatever issue you might have.

I don't know if Verizon applies their own return policy but LG accepts any phone for repairs even if it's running a custom ROM and under warranty (not this case I guess). You could try to disassemble it, buy a new screen and make it working again. iFixit has a pretty good tutorial on how to disassemble it.

I found a fix. I took the phone apart and cut a peice of a credit card up and stuck it between the cpu on the motherboard and the lcd. The lcd connector got loose.
