There is popular freeware open source āAudacityā, which can filter the previously marked background noise. Super easy, super effective, sexy, fast to ālearnā.
I think every other editor can do this too, as well as Normalization.

Thereās got to be a better way of providing internet than having each company that does it having to lay cables everywhere.
Really feels like weāre in a āah well, weād like a better situation, but itās just not possibleā kind of political ad. Surely there has to be a way.

Sure 7 cables is inefficient, but what about making companies share the infrastructure? Thatās how itās been in germany sinceā¦ basically forever. Mainly because the infrastructure is partly subsidised by the state, so in return companies have to share. Isnāt it supposed to be this way in the US too?
Yep. That was the plan that everyone agreed to twenty years ago. And then fought tooth and nail against. So now we still have cable tv, phone and optionally Google fiber. 3 wire providers

Well, to be fair we have Cable and phone/DSL as well.
Iām not 100% sure how itās with Cable tho, but I think that is shared as well. But it is like you mentioned in last weeks news, each house owner (for an apartment building) typically chooses one cable provider and you either take their cable package or you donāt (you donāt have to take premium packages though). Can also get Internet with that, if you want (or only Internet without TV package, whatever). Alternative is only IPTV (which comes with internet access obviously, and that one has actually usable upload too).
Weāre going to have problems with Cable in the near future too thoughā¦ Kabel Deutschland, the primary cable provider, was bought by Vodafone a few years back. And they are now also buying Unity Media, which is the second largest cable provider (still needs approval of the regulatory arm)ā¦ We still have a lot of smaller providers, some operated by the commune though (which are usually not as cheap as the big providers)ā¦ so itās not quite as black and white as in the US where itās either take the one provider or donāt get internet.
