The whole point about Orwellian strategies is that a society can be manipulated to accept lower levels of autonomy. This greatly decreases the effectiveness of sunlight. This is much more of a fact about society than a judgement. The vast majority can be tricked by their own amygdala to accept Orwellian policies if “it keeps them safe”.
