Oh is this some propaganda title with stories put out to say that gun control does not work and that Toronto is a shining example of this? LOL! Sorry but gun control works. Anyway not watching the video already due to this title.

I’ve been trying to address this for several years; but there are little to no serious independent studies. There was a moratorium on “gun violence” studies in the us until a few years ago and now no one is touching it; except interested parties who keep fudging it. It’s a mine field that goes nowhere.

There’s no independently verifiable data to share. You just get to believe who ever you want to. In the US it’s a perpetuated talking point. Nothing’s likely to happen.

@CPUBG The problem is that’s as bad as not reading a book simply because you don’t like the title when the literature and ideals could prove interesting. Simply saying “gun control works” doesn’t help anyone. If your argument doesn’t have a strong case then it’s very much moot.

@GFX_Garage That’s pretty interesting. Honestly, I think the biggest case and point regarding proper use of guns is Switzerland (I actually wrote a paper up a few months ago if anyone is interested) do to the fact that the majority of males there have guns as it’s a requirement to participate in the military. I don’t think we need a form of gun control so much as a more complex way to make people feel the weight of carrying a weapon. But alas, everyone has the answer, and that answer seems so two sided at this point that no one will ever reach a resolution.

Edit: The paper was on police brutality by the way. There was just a subsection where I focussed on that

Interesting video Wendell. Keep up the good work. I find stuff like this interesting and a great deter from tech.

I’ve been updating my knowledge on the subject recently. Apparently the POTUS declared that the CDC “has the authority” to study gun violence in the spring of this year. The CDC has been doing some work now. They’re not doing a bad job so far either.

Just the same, many researchers at the CDC aren’t confident that it will help.

I looked into the timeline where random gun violence took the steep upturn; and started looking into possible influences, with respect to mental health care issues. I shared it on my blog in May of 2017.

I’m interested in reading your article as well.

Halfway through the third paragraph:

Though, I recommend reading it all. Just a basic paper. Forgot to format the sources in APA… Annoys me.
