I work at an electronics recycling facility. We’ve managed to find a couple tools for clearing Lenovo asset tags, but of the two we have -
First is a DOS tool, manages to clear tags on ThinkStation minis and some Thinkpads, seemingly 7th gen and prior with
cctk --Asset=
as well as
cctk --propowntag=
(a space following both commands after “=”)
The second works exclusively on the minis. I’ve read that Lenovo uses AMI bios for some machines, hence our command
amideefix64 /ca ""
Both of those tools were found before I took the helm looking for answers.
First question - is there a current tool for removing Thinkpad Asset tags?
Second (and third) - Anybody have suggestions for making a mostly all-in-one tool? Does one exist already?
TIA!
