Left Handed Gaming Mice

My son is getting that age where he starts gaming more and more, however, he hates using my mouse (Razer Naga) as he is a lefty and I am right handed... Anyone know of a decent corded gaming mouse that I can get him as I'd hate to get some generic ambidextrous mouse, Thanks

Well I bought a gaming mouse recently, although I didn't want all the programmable buttons and went with something more simple. The SteelSeries Kinzu V2. It has L, R, Scroll wheel and DPI switch. The shape is symmetrical and the software has a setting for lefties. So if he likes all the bells and whistles it may not be a good choice, but if he wants something more simple as I did I highly recommend it as I love mine.

The Naga is actually available as left handed version now.

Ambidextrous mice are not bad. Mionix have a couple of ambidextrous mice that are worth considering. I don't know what you're willing to spend, you might prefer something cheaper.

Thanks

Striezel: I'll take a look at it

Berserker: I dont like using Ambidextrous mice as they are not propperly optimized for either hand and seeing that I did a study about ergonomics I think my view has been twisted :D as for price, I have the luxury to not really care what I spend as long as I am under the impression that I am getting value for money.

There's also the left handed death adder from razer (the Naga's a great choice also).

My first choice would probably be an ambidextrous, zowie fk. Zowie doesn't have any drivers to install, which i think is ideal if you're using multiple mice. It is very popular in moba and fps because its very light and small with a good sensor.

2nd choice would be the ambidextrous mionix avior 7000 (do not get the 8200 version, just the 7000) A little heavier and larger then the fk, but very good sensor, very good build quality.

3rd choice: if you really right a left handed mouse, there are left handed razer deathadders.

at the very least don't get any mouse with a max dpi of 8200. Those use one of 3 sensors, all of which have significant flaws.

when you palm a mouse, ergonomically left or right is kind of important. When you claw or fingertip grip a mouse, ambidextrous is ideal because ergonomic mice typically have crappy space to grip on the outside side of the mouse. Typically smaller mice are ambidextrous for this reason. In gaming, claw and fingertip are generally considered superior to palm, in addition, light mice are generally considered better then heavier because you don't have to fight momentum, making last minute adjustments is easier, kind of like how a lighter car is easier to control. So you see many serious gamers use small, light, ambidextrous mice.
