Least noisy reliable HDD

It seems to be the general trend the past several years, but I can’t say it’s a hard and fast rule; it’s possible this could change in the future too.

The issue was sort of explored in this thread (although not as deeply as I’d like):

It’s somewhat hard to model the degradation rates of the NAND because it changes wildly with wear level; Also 3D NAND has some strange effects on change decay rates because of the floating body (detailed in post #14).
