Yup true, but i think that you cannot find a good one of those,
for less then 5K.
Fortunately since he wants a sedan it’s not much over 5k. The wagons are very expensive (starting at 10k for a manual), but I’ve seen a couple S60 R for 6k.
yeah not many options local best option is 2 hrs away.

the XC90s jump out at me but its a damnable crossover.
Ah, yeah up here the S60 R is really rare.
I have never seen one for sale actually.
Because our country was mostly a station wagon country.
So a V70 R is a bit more common.
A Volvo with turbo is indeed nicer.
My NA is kinda slow compared to modern newer cars.
I can software tune it to 188HP.
But i’m not fully sure if i want to invest that €250,- for that.
Because i´m also consider to look at a V70 T5 instead as well.
Or something similar.
Better not go into XC90´s.
Those can be a money pit, especially the 6 cylinders.
Yeah, you’re likely going to have to be patient for one. I’m in Idaho, and I’ve looked at a few in Washington (even bought an S60 there actually).
Both the R and T5 are a little hard to come by, but I bet one would pop up in a month or 2.
XD i have untill the 15th to find it and buy it. DMV is appt only no walkins. and i already have an appt for the 15th for my license. next closest one is 3 months away.
One thing i do have to warn you for in regards to a Volvo S60 or V70.
If you find one with nice leather seats.
Keep in mind, then when you are probablly take one out for a test drive,
you will likely be sold already haha.
Because Volvo´s seats are some of the best most comfy seats around in the car world.
i know i have ridden in a few but never driven one my self.
BMW has some good rivals in the seat department but horrid for repairs.
Yeah bmw´s are very nice cars.
Really good handling machines.
But really expensive to maintain.
And in regards to reliability bmw isn´t what it used to be anymore.
The 325i or 525i is pretty much the only safe choice.
Especially in regards to BMW’s from 2005 and younger.
The four cylinders are all rubbish.
Volvo´s are more gained towards comfy driving.
Wow that sucks.
I’m looking at what you have, but there’s not much.
Found this Saab, but it’s not really what you’re look at all, but it’ll do 0-60 in 6 seconds witch is pretty zippy, plus this one has a GM engine so parts my still be easy to find. Birdo has one and he loves it.

They make a 4dr and that’s what I was looking for.
Not even any EVOs. You might have to get on FB marketplace.
Yeah used car market here sucks.
And I don’t have a Facebook account anymore.
So I will have to do the craigslist thing. Or get lucky with a stealership.
Might want to barrow a friend’s account for a quick search. That was pretty bleak.
Might try offerup.
I just realized I didn’t try searching for Neon SRT4, but if there’s one of those it’s probably going to be beat or crazy expensive.
Have not seen one here for about three years. So one being up for sale is low.
Offer up looks promising

Unfortunate. I can check my local market tomorrow. I swear most of the time when I find a good deal it’s in Washington. Maybe the market is just bad in general right now.

promising.

upon looking into this a lot of these posting are old as hell or scam signs galore.
Oh, you don’t mind wagons?
Also, I still highly recommend a T5 or better.
in all honesty as long as it runs drives and i can count on it to run for at least a few years. i can make it work. 4door is preferred as i do a lot of road trips and a 2 door sucks for 3 -5 people on a road trip.
I also saw a couple of Volvo XC70’s listed on those links you posted.
A XC70 is also a reliable car as well.
It’s basically just a V70 with a little bit more ground clearence.
A Honda Accord or Toyota Camry are also great options as well.
