KVM for two PCs and triple monitor setup, with one gaming 1440p 165-480hz

Hello, I’m an old game developper that uses to work with a single PC and a triple monitor setup (the middle one is a personal gaming 1440p high refresh rate monitor, and the left/right are monitor provided by my employer).

In previous company, I was able to frankenstein the office computer to upgrade the GPU to something better (replace the 3080 by a 4090 when I was working in an indie company). But as I am soon starting a new job in a bigger AAA studio, I won’t be able to modify my professional PC so I will have two towers.

So as many people, I assume I discovered how dissatisfied are most of current KVM when you want to use triple monitor setup with some “state of the art high performance gaming monitor”.

I have read that there is a KVM using display port 2.X in the work. Could this one be able to support high 1440p refresh rate ?

I’m ready to pay the cost as I hate cable, and want a clean setup for the two PC and triple monitor setup (also using an externall Soundblaster X G6 dac/amp, two web cams, wireless mouse).

But from what I read about the current dp 1.4 kvm, my current 1440p 165hz monitor would be limited to 144hz as overclocking isn’t supported. I can consider having two cable / input on my center monitor and then switch monitor input from dp/hdmi and then let a dp1.4 handling the two other monitors but it’s a bit a workaround that I don’t like :stuck_out_tongue:

Thank you so much for creating those amazing KVM, I can’t imaging the amount of work trying to build the ultimate KVM has taken, it should have been a difficult journey.

By overclocking do you mean DSC? The KVM supports DSC.

Here is a resolution guide by Club3D, your monitor should be fine:
