Keyboard problem, not key bounce but like it. (USB)

Hi there, it’s not often I need to ask a question and I am not sure where this question needs to live so I’ll start here. To admin feel free to move it, if there is a better place.

(Macbook Pro i5) and (Lenovo i3) both running versions of macos, one running Gentoo +Nextcloud in VirtualBox.

I brought a new USB keyboard because I hate typing on flat laptop keys.

The problem: When I hold the shift key down and press a key, I get an effect like “key/switch bounce” (AAAAA. BB CCC DDD FFFFFF). It is NOT auto repeat or repeat speed. As it only happens when I am pressing a shift key ether left or right. I have downloaded a program that helps but it’s a debounce/r that puts delays between every key press. This is anoying as it slows typing down and now often I mess letterers when they are double letters (leters). It’s frustrating because even though the debounce mitigates the problem it does it by fixing something that is not there and comes with it’s own problems.

Is this a PC USB keyboard V Apple USB keyboard incompatibility problem maybe a different protocol? or something like that? Maybe someone reading this already has the answer.

Thanks for the help.

Looks like this may be in the wrong place.

Do you get the same behavior with a different keyboard? What exact model are you using now?

I don’t have another keyboard to try at the moment but if I do I will post the answer. What I do know is the keyboard works fine if I boot to Windows.

AULA f2028 is the make and model. The only other keyboard I have is an Apple Pro Keyboard that works fine.
