Just Bought a New PC - What to Do?

Hello, I'm a new PC user and I just got the MSI GP Series GP60 Leopard-010 and wanted to know where to start exactly, for getting rid of bloatware and unnecessary pre loaded files and programs.

I understand there's already a video on what to do here.

I however wish to know if the steps in the video come after the set-up process for the PC or before and possibly, if there's any bloatware and undesirables you guys have found useless.

Thank you,

Brent

Don't you just do what they show in the video after the initial startup?

Not really sure what you're asking for here.

Dual boot Linux.

Before you do anything: UPDATE ALL OF YOUR DRIVER

Remove bloatware:

Start>apps>control panel>programs

Remove the programs you don't want except for some of the MSI utilities, look up what they do before uninstalling them

Then dual boot Linux

You are right.

Some of the MSI utilities are nice  (GS 60 owner)

Ohh yeah get StartIsBack too...

How might I update all of my driver? And how do I dual boot Linux?

With that question I would say don't dual boot yet. Install virtual or or VMware and download something like OpenSuse and run it in your Windows install. Play with it there and get a feel for it. If you like it try to install it.

OpenSuse will run on your machine since I have a very similar model to your laptop. There is some other stuff you need to do but try it in a VM first. Let me know if you have any questions.

to update drivers either go to the manufacturers websites and DL the newest drivers for all  or purchase a driver installation software that does it for you.
