Woodblock printing never really went away. Hiroshi Yoshida’s work spanned the 19th and early 20th centuries and is simply gorgeous. There are contemporary Japanese artists like Tsuruya Kokei and Clifton Karhu, and Western-born artists who studied in Japan like David Stones and Paul Binnie.
