Is the fx 6300 good enough

im planning to get a gaiming pc i have a i5 2500k i waunt to know if the fx is good enough to performe close to the i5 2500k in gaming and screen recording

NO! It is a GREAT budget CPU but the i5 absolutely obliterates the AMD based on what you are going to be doing.

but is it worth the extra 108.36$ the pc is for when my brother and i waunt to play stacraft 2 together technicaly it going to be my brother pc since i already have my pc

the i5 3570k is  867.01$ and the amd fx is 768.65$

Well what graphics card are you getting? If you would like, you can tell me what you would like in your bro's computer and I could put together a build, BTW is there a Microcenter near where you live? i5's there are like $60 cheaper

im not sure for grafic card mabie a 7870 and yaah no microcenter where i live it suck so yaah im not sure if for the money if i should get the i5 built or the fx built so far im trying not to spend too much on it im trying not to pass  870$ since i already have a good gaming/streaming pc

the i5 only performs better in single threaded programs, which starcraft 2 is not

for screen recording you will see a drop in FPS, but for starcraft and other multithreaded games and programs the FX-6300 will perform better

get the fx-6300, in my opinion the i5 isnt worth the extra $100. Just make sure to get an aftermarket cooler for 6300 seeing as the AMD stock cooler is shit.

I agree, the i5 obliterates the FX-6300, but I think the FX stands it's own ground in terms of performance per dollar, and you really stretch that bang for the dollar on multi-threaded games. Any frame drop should be relatively minimal while recording due to having cores to spare.

i am now going to get a fx 6300 plus when stem roller comme out i will just upgrade to it so the amd has a better upgrade path thansk im still not sure how many fps it will get in stacraft 2 anyone know how many fps it will get in starcraft 2
