Is 450 watts enough to power an i7 6700k and a gtx 970?

I have a 450 watt 80+ bronze rated power supply and im wondering if its enough to power a gtx 970 and an i7 6700k?

Yes - probably. It depends on the quality of the power supply.

What's the name & model?

Probably, but you should totally get a 390 over a 970, and the photon series of power supplies has good wattage at a low price

Its a silverstone power supply, the non modular 450 watt sfx model. I have a mini itx system that requires sfx power supply. I wouldve gone with a 390 over the 970 but Ive had the 970 for a long while now and a 390 isnt a worthy upgrade if you already own a 970.

Ah, why not get an ITX case that can take a full sized ATX PSU and GPU like an Elite 130

I have the fractal core 500 case, but i regret not having gotten the elite 130. The core 500 can take a full size psu but it blocks off any good size gpu. So i bought an sfp psu to go along with it and its works great fit wise, i just wanted to know if it was enough juice for the 97 0 i had laying around to go along with my new i7 6700k.

I think with a GTX970 you should basicly be fine with that Silverstone SFX 450W psu

It will be fine because an Intel system with a 970 usually doesn't exceed 300W peak load.

I have a similar setup, i7 with 970, 5 hdds and an ssd, waterpump and 3 fans on an itx with silverstone 450w sfx, works fantastically.

I disagree Streetguru, if the PSU is possibly a issue, i wouldn't get a 390 with a 275 w TDP, over the 970, when the 970 only uses 145 w.

As for the topic, you should be good but judge for yourself, maybe this will help http://powersupplycalculator.net/

And it might be worth looking at the non "K" part, as base Overclocking is back with Z170, and there is a bit of a savings on the i7-6700 non "K" and at stock a lower TDP as well.

Yes.. but I would recommend a bit more because it is always good to have more wattage so you don't push the psu too hard.
