iPad with M Chips: Real-world read/write speeds?

I’m thinking about getting an iPad to replace my laptop for traveling.

Most of the stuff that I need to do is in the browser, so no concerns there, but I do a bit of photo editing when I am traveling.

I would need to import photos from my camera/card reader to the iPad’s storage, and then move them over to an external SSD.

I have heard that the iPads, even with the M* chips have had sub USB2 write speeds in some benchmarks. Obviously this could be a PITA if I had to move a large number of photos…

Can anybody comment on this?

If you want, I can give it a go on 11 inch 4th Gen iPad Pro, spec says M2 and Thunderbolt/USB4.
I use it at work, but never really tried moving any significant amount of data around, just small 3D/CAD files.

Not sure what you need to do, but it can be a pain in the butt - especially Safari tends to make everything huge and sometimes borderline unusable. Maybe try it out if you can.

What happened to google?

Nothing happened to Google, smartass. Have you ever heard of a company lying about the performance as it relates to actual real-world performance? Do you just trust the marketing literature of every product you buy?
