I work at an internet cafe (Cool part time job for a Compsci student right?) in New Zealand and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with ICafeMenu and CCBoot.
Here’s a brief breakdown of what we currently have:
-40 disk-less gaming PC’s
-1 CCBoot server.
-1 Ubuntu Server running a rust server.
-1 Mikrotik CRS125-24G-1S-2HnD-IN cloud switch
-2 Dell PowerEdge switches
- 200/200 Mbps fiber connection ;D
So basically from what I’ve heard from the boss is that he wants to host an ICafeMenu IDC server. Now frankly, I’m getting mixed information on what that actually is. I’ve read that it is a tracker in a P2P environment and a game server in which other ICafeMenu servers can download updates from.
However, this is where I get confused. Our game server running the CCBoot server would also be the ICafeMenu game server ICafeMenu Peer? so you would have to manually update the games on the CCBoot game server and then update it to the IDC for others to download from?
Perhaps I’m overthinking it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
