Intel Power Gadget on Xeon

Short and not so sweet.

I have a new-ish work laptop (W10) with an Intel Xeon E-2176M CPU and wanted to grab the Intel Power Gadget to see how it was handling some of my work loads. However, it seems to not run at all. I have tried multiple versions to no avail.

I can’t seem to find anything in the way of Xeon’s being officially supported with the Power Gadget so I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.

If there is another tool I can use in lieu of this, I’d be happy to check out any useful links yall might have handy.

Thanks in advance.

Bonus chuckle for the AMD folks who will inevitably lurk on this post:
I came across this during my searching around, see the Notice at the top.

I am not familiar with power gadget, but I have seen CPUID HWmonitor showing power usage in the past. Not sure if that is what you are looking for?

Windows gadgets are discontinued since Windows 8 so it won’t work. You can use task manager to take a deeper look at the workload and other applications like HWiNFO64 or HWMonitor allows to log data too if you want.

Interesting that it is still supported on mac/other OS, but discontinued with Windows 10.

Not sure I agree with the decision making there.

Thanks for the suggestions!
