Intel Arc B580 Bazzite

I have this same problem with some GTK apps in CachyOS. The issue seems to be caused by vulkan deficiencies in driver.

A lot of the time, the apps start off rendering normal before becoming glitchy.

Intel plans to add a vulkan shader improvement to mesa 5.3, which is scheduled to get a release candidate this week. I don’t know if it will fix it or not.

That is nice to know. Can I bother you for a link to this mesa info?
thanks!

I don’t gave link perms, so you’ll need to replace the dots

Its ok. I have done some digging trying to fix my tumbleweed issues and I think the MESA update might have been released. i had a few updates in discover mesa related on tumbleweed. and a couple on Bazzite. My issue now is it wants to compute shaders on my CPU @ max throttle. I feel like a kid again, loading up a game, waiting for it to load with my CPU fans set to jet engine; this didnt used to be like this, it used to be quiet with the only noise from a dying fan bearing. MESA version 25.2.4 installed on both.

With Kernel 6.18rc1-1 and mesa devel installed. I still had problems with GTK apps in vulkan mode.

One thing improved is that Jedi Survivor stopped crashing (tested with Proton GE 20)

I was going to sell my old RTX 4060, but it looks like I’ll be returning my B580 and keeping the 4060 for the time being.
