Hey, I got an intel A770 16GB for relatively cheap. It’s a pretty nifty thing for decoding/encoding and my plan was to use it with my old NAS hardware running windows just to host the plex server.
(upgrading the NAS hardware to get ECC memory)
Now I’m wondering if it can be used with a plex plugin on TrueNas. Anyone tried it? My googling comes up dry
what ive read, the repo’s, on many distros, intel media driver nonfree editions doenst support arc that much and the driver itself may struggle with the addin card. and u need to use newer kernel version too. i think u should stick to windows for less headaches atm. ive thought about it when i wanted to upgraded my setup cause cpu was kind of broken. i3 12100 running fine atm in my setup now.
