I have a couple dual port network cards based on the intel 82576 chipset. These are cheap and plentiful on ebay and the like however I am unable to find the firmware update for this and the ones I have seem to have a very outdated firmware version.
I am not talking about the boot option rom (PXE/EFI/etc.) but the EEPROM/NVM firmware. I tried updating the boot option rom but the reported firmware version in ethtool did not change. I know updating the eeprom is not officially supported but based on what I’ve seen this is clearly possible as you can see here:
Unfortunately that guy did not post the firmware after someone sent it to him.
I haven’t been able to find this anywhere so if anyone has a recent version of this and instructions on how to flash it with ethtool I would be very grateful.
