Installing OpenHMD on Linux

Hey all!

I’m new to the forum but not new to Lv1Techs, I installed Linux and figured this is probably the best place to ask in-depth questions.

I’m now using ZorinOS (ubuntu) Managed to finally get my 780m installed after days of work. Tried following the OpenHMD readme but I don’t know what I did wrong.

Driver I’m using: github/OpenHMD/tree/rift-kalman-filter

My Cmake configure:

After Generate:

The open project button remains blank but the driver doesn’t seem to be installed.

Please help if you can!

Cmake too old?
They have their own repo so you can install latest even on 20.04
I think latest is 3.25 or 3.26

Sorry for the old reply, this indeed fixed the issue!

It ended up not working in the end because the MiniDP adapter wasn’t passing through EDID or my linux setup was not able to receive it so the Rift’s display was not going to work.

I plan on going linux on my main rig when I feel ready to handle GPU-passthrough for VMs so I can run Smite and GTA.
